[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Forze Hydrogen Electric Racing is a Dreamteam from TU Delft. The team consists of 65 students from various studies, from aerospace engineering to industrial design. They work together to promote hydrogen technology by designing, building and controlling this unique race car. Airborne provides space and technical support in the production of all composite components. The parts are made in the Digital Factory for Composites (hall 42) and in Airborne’s hall 70. Airborne supervises the production. In addition, Airborne also provides other facilities (ovens, vacuum pumps, etc.) and auxiliary materials.
Also, the student racing team Forze Hydrogen Electric Racing announced last week BWT (Best Water Technology) to be their new main sponsor. BWT is also the current main sponsor of Formula 1 team Force India. The announcement took place during the 24H of the Nürburgring. At the same time, the student team presented their latest hydrogen race car: The Forze VIII, in full pink, magenta and silver colors of BWT. For the student team the presentation is extra special because of the collaboration with the new big sponsor BWT, European market leader in water technology. In addition to Formula 1 BWT now also sponsors the student racing team that runs on hydrogen. For BWT, this means the first step towards racing on hydrogen.
Forze VIII
Before Forze VIII can actually start the race, some final tests need to be done. The first big race for the team is coming soon: the Supercar Challenge at De Gamma Racing Days from 17 to 19 August. Here the team wants to show that racing can also be done without harmful emissions: The Forze VIII only has water pouring out of the exhaust. This year the goal of the team is to win the sport class.
