Nautricity with Airborne Tidal blades at EMEC

Composite Tidal Blades engineered & manufactured by Airborne Composites/Marine

Nautricity Ltd. , the Scottish 2nd generation tidal device developer, has her CoRMat tidal turbine successfully installed at the world’s largest tidal and wave test centre EMEC (the Orkneys) .

After what felt as an endless winter season with incredible bad weather the Nautricty turbine has been finally installed for it’s real life testing program which will run for at least the next 6 months and is expected to generate important data for the next level of both turbine and blade design.

The 2nd generation CoRMat turbine is fitted out with 1-shot-RTM blades of Airborne Composites which have no adhesives present and have embedded inserts integrated in the root. With these blades, both the reliability and blade performance are addressed, thus expected decreased maintenance costs and increased electricity output.

Airborne wishes the Nautricity team success with the testing program!
