As of September 7th 2021, Magnus Olofsson has been appointed as Business Development Manager for Automotive within Airborne, known for its groundbreaking automated and digital solutions for composites manufacturing. In his new position, Olofsson will be responsible for continued growth of sales of high-quality automation solutions in the Automotive market. His mission includes giving further shape to the strategic positioning of Airborne, to capture the opportunities for composites in E-Mobility and to support customers with Airborne’s added value in making composite manufacturing easy, affordable and scalable.
Olofsson brings more than 15 years of experience in sales and strategic business development in the fields of automotive and mobility, having previously worked in the field of composite components for OEMs like Porsche. As a business development executive, he delivers measurable and sustainable outcomes and has proven success in formulating and executing sales strategies that strengthen competitive positioning, increase market share, and drive productivity. With experience throughout the value chain, Olofsson will drive growth of Automation, and Production As A Service business models to fit with the rapidly evolving mobility segment.
Challenging market with plenty of growth potential
With the appointment of Olofsson, Airborne is further substantiating its ambitions and plans to expand the company’s strong proposition for Automotive and realise new projects in manufacturing automation for thermoplastic, dry fibre, prepreg and SMC composites. Especially with the composites customers demanding solutions for high-rate and flexible automation in the current dynamic market environment, where the rapid transition to electric vehicles and new sustainability requirements are driving the strategies of customers. Olofsson studied Business Administration at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Umwelt Nürtingen-Geislingen (HfWU). He worked in different positions at various key companies, including ubc, Gurit and the euro advanced carbon fiber composites GmbH, part of the Toray Group.
