  • Airborne Galileo Satellites Solar Array Panels
European market leader in manufacturing solar-array substrate panels

Composite parts for Space

Airborne Space is leading the way in the engineering and manufacturing of composite panels for satellites. Through industrialisation, digitalised automation and applying different production process technologies, we are making spacecraft components more affordable for our clients. This made Airborne market leader in the manufacturing of solar-array substrate panels in Europe. With our expertise and qualifications, we are also growing fast in the manufacturing of satellite structures – such as sandwich panels for platform and instrument structures.

What products & services can help the Space industry to optimize composites manufacturing?

Airborne is focussed on making composites affordable for Space. Our proposition offers a disruption in price and production volume of panels by applying smart automation, which means: low CAPEX, flexible, scalable and transferable robotic solutions. By co-engineering and close cooperation, we achieve next generation, design-to-cost solutions with our customers. Our current offerings for Space consist of the following solutions:

Substrate panels

Airborne has delivered over 250 state-of-the-art solar-array substrates to several paramount European satellites.

Panels for mega-constellations
Since the satellite market is in transition, in terms of commercialisation and moving towards more small satellites, Airborne is developing and qualifying affordable substrate panels for mega-constellations. Our proposition offers a disruption in price and production volume of panels.

Structure panels

Airborne is offering composite sandwich panels for satellite structures, based on our strong capabilities and space qualified materials, processes and facility.

Newspace market
For the newspace market, we offer our affordable panel proposition for small-sats and mega-constellations. For the many panel interfaces, we apply a smart process for the assembly of the metallic inserts.

Small launchers

The newspace market is demanding new and dedicated launcher solutions for the deployment, servicing and replacement of small-sat mega-constellations. Airborne is proud manufacturing partner in SMILE.

Smart automation
We develop affordable composite structures for small launchers. For the manufacturing we apply smart automation, which means: low CAPEX, flexible, scalable and transferable robotic solutions.

Small satellite solutions for newspace

In the space market, there is an increasing demand for small satellites: in the next decade many thousands of these smallsats must find their way into Earth orbit. But without access to launch, how can newspace companies get their smallsats to space and meet demand?
