Our Automated Honeycomb Potting system is designed to fill honeycomb blanks efficiently and accurately with potting compounds via a robotised platform. Where one traditionally applies the potting material manually or via a mechanised system in the aerospace industry, this new system is fully automated and digital.
The system is able to save production cost through amongst others drastically reducing material waste, simplifying work preparation and increasing processing speed. Compared to the manual approach, filling via a robotised platform is easily repeatable, more accurate and faster. It results in weight-savings of the end-product and helps the aerospace industry with tackling its challenge of ramping up and increasing production output.
The workflow is automated, with an easy-to-use pre-processor. Any shape of potting geometry can be used and the machine code is automatically generated. The system features real-time quality control, measures the height of the honeycomb blank and adjusts the potting process.
Our Automated Honeycomb Potting system automatically applies potting material for local reinforcements in honeycomb sandwich panels. It saves labour cost, is more accurate and has a seamless automated workflow, from design to automated manufacturing. The system is offered in three sizes.
The Working Bee is our smallest solution. This honeycomb potting robot-cell is suitable for small spaces up to 25m2 and flat honeycomb blanks.
The Bumble Bee is our midrange solution. This medium robot-cell is suitable for spaces up to 44m2 and flat honeycomb blanks as well as curved once.
The Honey Bee is our largest solution, suitable for large honeycomb blanks, flat and curved, and will require a floor space of some 85m2.
